A Place to be Heard

If your birth experience wasn’t quite what you expected and it’s still on your mind, if the transition into life with your baby feels overwhelming, or if the emotional shifts of becoming a parent have caught you off guard, please know you don’t have to carry that alone.A pre-counselling session with Jennine provides a quiet, private space where you can share at your own pace, ask whatever is on your mind, and gently consider what support might feel right for you now. This first step is simply about being heard, feeling understood, and finding steady, compassionate support.

Individual Counselling

Individual counselling provides a safe, confidential space to focus on your wellbeing — whether you are pregnant, in the postnatal period, or navigating any stage of parenting. You can share what’s on your heart, explore your feelings at your own pace, and be met with understanding and care. For many, becoming a parent can also bring up unexpected emotions from their own childhood, and this space supports you in making sense of these experiences. Together, we can help you feel more grounded, resilient, and confident as you move forward.

A Parenthood Pause for Couples

The perinatal season — pregnancy, birth, and the early months of parenthood — brings immense change, and these shifts can sometimes place unexpected strain on your relationship. The Parenthood Pause provides a supportive, safe, and non-judgemental space to explore how these changes are affecting you both, improve communication, deepen your connection, and navigate challenges together. This time together can help you feel more aligned as partners while also adjusting to your evolving roles as parents.

Mindfulness Techniquesfor Calm and Clarity

Individual Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) sessions offer gentle, practical tools to help you manage stress, tune into your emotions, and find moments of calm in everyday life. Mindfulness can support balance, self-awareness, and self-compassion, providing nurturing support through this busy and emotionally full perinatal season.

Calm Mum 4 Session Series

This adapted version of Jon Kabat-Zinn’s renowned 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course gently supports you through the busy and emotionally full perinatal season. Through simple, practical practices, it helps you slow down, manage stress, tune into your emotions, and find small moments of calm. Mindfulness can nurture balance, self-compassion, and a sense of ease as you navigate the joys and challenges of pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood.​

Babies under 9 months are welcome to attend.

Sessions can be attended individually, as a couple, or in a small group of up to four participants who arrange to come together.

About Jennine

 Jennine holds a master's in counselling and is registered with the Australian Counselling Association.

​

​The core foundation of Jennine's counselling is based in person-centred therapy, complemented by a diverse range of counselling modalities tailored to meet each client's unique needs, interests, and responsiveness.

​

Therapies include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Based Therapy (MBSR), Motivational Interviewing, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Analytical Therapy.

Jennine is a qualified mindfulness practitioner with over twelve years' experience facilitating individual sessions and group courses.

 

Jennine draws from the research and teachings of Jon Kabat Zinn, Bessel Van De Kolk, Ekhart Tolle, and Dan Siegel among others in understanding the connection between body and mind in reducing stress and increasing emotional regulation.

 

Techniques taught include present moment awareness, breath works, body scans, mindful movement, self-compassion, somatic experiencing along with greater understanding of why stress occurs.
